Congress: Do they represent the average american?


Two of congress's chief responsibilities are representation and lawmaking. Describe the ways in which these two responsibilities might conflict with one another.

  1. I don't think so because they are really political and have more wealth maybe. They are just really motivated in that field for our country to solve/change issues or ideas. It's time consuming and hard work with other political people, especially in detabtes.

  2. The Senate, no. The House, yes. Since the House goes hand in hand with the population rather the Senate which consists of 2 electors per state, there is more representation in the state. The bigger a state is, the more the spots in the House become open. With that, there has to be election in various counties, rather than the state alone, or two major counties(Smaller states, i.e Alaska or Hawaii).

    The House actually shows more representation than that of the President since he/she is elected through the electoral college regardless if they win the popular election.
